To qualify, you’ll need to be a South African citizen and attach a copy of the following documents:
- your valid ID documents,
- your valid Matric / Grade 12 certificate,
- all your academic transcripts, and
- proof of residence.
Aside from these requirements, you would also need to apply within your District or Province and be willing to adhere to the department’s regulations. You will also need a certificate or degree within the related field where applicable.
Remember that the documents being submitted may not be older than three months.
How to apply
You can apply online on the department’s website but if this is not possible, download the Z83 Application form or collect a copy of the application at the nearest Department of Higher Education and submit it in person.
Before submitting your application, make sure that the application form is signed and all the required documents are attached.
